KEHS English student speaks at the UN

KEHS English student Sarah delivered a talk at the UN building in Geneva to the Syrian Medical Organisation’s conference.

Sarah’s talk was to raise awareness to the world about the plight of the Medical Organisation in the ongoing refugee crises. It was an emotional speech for her as Sarah is of Syrian origins herself. She said how her English IGCSE Speaking and Listening skills helped her:

‘Speaking in front of such a large crowd was daunting, but the English oratory skills I had been taught gave me the confidence and eradicated any fears. We’d done a lot of talks in English, so it was perfect preparation for such a difficult task.’

Well done Sarah! The English Department are thoroughly proud of her.
